Alex Fox writes historical mysteries set in the Egypt of the 1920s — a world of shuttered hotel verandas, dig-site rivalries, and secrets buried far deeper than the tombs. Born of a lifelong connection to Cairo and Alexandria, the Antiquities Mysteries grew out of a fascination with the golden age of excavation, when the line between archaeology and plunder was thinner than anyone admitted. The series follows Lady Penelope Ashford through the drawing rooms, museums, and river steamers of a country on the edge of enormous change. The Antiquities Mysteries is planned as a twenty-four-volume series.
